ChessRoller
A chess database, analysis workbench, and training tool for macOS and Windows. Bought once, installed locally, yours to keep.
ChessRoller is our desktop application for players who take their preparation seriously. It combines a database, an analysis board, and a trainer into a single application that runs on your own computer.
What it does
Database
Search stays fast as a collection grows past a million games. Search by position, material balance, pawn structure, move sequence, and tactical motifs such as pins and skewers. Bring what you already have with you: PGN files, and the common ChessBase and SCID formats, import directly with no conversion round-trip.
Analysis
Analysis runs on UCI-compatible engines, so the engine you already trust works here, configured the way you configure it elsewhere. Open several candidate lines at once and play out the refutation rather than reading a single evaluation number.
Review
Game review looks over the whole game and surfaces the moments worth a second look, scores overall accuracy, and walks you through finding the stronger continuation yourself. Strictness is adjustable from casual to expert.
Training
Generate an opening repertoire from your own games, drill it with spaced repetition, and feed reviewed mistakes back into the same trainer so your errors become your curriculum.
Player reports
Build career reports for the players in your database: opening choices, results by color, head-to-head records, and Swiss or round-robin crosstables with the appropriate tiebreaks applied.
How it is sold
ChessRoller is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. A single license covers both macOS and Windows. Maintenance updates for the version you buy are free, and your copy does not expire. Checkout and license keys are handled by Polar, which acts as merchant of record for the sale.
Your license is activated online when you first enter your key, and is re-checked from time to time, with a grace period for working offline in between.
Your games, repertoires, and training history are stored on your own machine, and analysis, database, and training features work without a network connection.
Support and legal
Product support is available at hello@chessroller.com. ChessRoller's documentation, pricing, release notes, privacy policy, and end-user terms are published with the product. This site's privacy policy covers bitranch.co itself.
